The Aledo High School Tennis Team extended their district record to 2-0 with an impressive 19-0 win over Brewer in their district 6-5A home opener.

Aledo set the pace for the team match with a sweep of the doubles matches, taking a 7-0 lead into the singles matches. The girls’ doubles pairings of Priscilla Schimming/Allison Dale (8-3), Erin Davis/Olivia Key (8-0) and Carly Siddons/Concetta Ogden (8-1) posted strong wins along with the boys’ doubles pairings of Lance McClure/Miles Grubbs (8-0), Alec Meendsen/Jared Kelm (8-1) and James Young/Payton Neeley (8-0). The mixed doubles pairing of John Llewellyn/Tristyn Fambrough defeated Brewer (8-3).
The Aledo girls did not drop a set with solid wins from Schimming (6-0, 6-1), Davis (6-0, 6-2), Key (6-1, 6-0) Siddons (6-0, 6-0), Fambrough (7-5, 6-1), and Ogden (6-2, 6-1). In two additional matches, Dale (8-2) and Allie Farmer (8-0) also posted wins against Brewer.

The AHS boys were equally as dominant in singles as they had strong showings from Meendsen (6-0, 6-2), McClure (6-1, 6-1), Grubbs (6-1, 6-0), Young (6-0, 6-1), Kelm (6-0, 6-0) and Neeley (6-1, 6-1). Posting an additional win against Brewer was Zach Leeper (8-3).
AHS will have an away match against Saginaw next Tuesday.
