The Aledo High School tennis team swept Azle High School (19-0) to finish with a perfect 7-0 record and the District 6-5A championship. The AHS varsity team continued is run with its 12th consecutive district championship and will go into post-season play for the 14th time in the past 16 years. Aledo heads into post season play with a #4 ranking in 5A Region 1, and #11 state ranking.

Posting wins in doubles were the pairings of: Priscilla Schimming/Allison Dale (8-0), Erin Davis/Olivia Key (8-1), Carly Siddons/Concetta Ogden (8-1), Lance McClure/Miles Grubbs (8-3), Alec Meendsen/Jared Kelm (8-0), James Young/Payton Neeley (8-1), and Tristyn Fambrough/Tomas Dlouhy (8-4) posted the final win for the doubles portion of the match.

Posting wins in singles were: Schimming (6-2, 6-0), Davis (6-0, 6-2), Key (6-0, 6-0), Fambrough (6-1, 6-2), Siddons (6-0, 6-0), Ogden (6-0, 6-0), Meendsen (6-0, 6-0), McClure (6-0, 6-0), Grubbs (6-0, 6-0), Young (6-3, 6-1), Kelm (6-1, 6-0) and Neeley (8-1). AHS posted two additional wins from Dlouhy (8-6) and John Llewellyn (8-6) in boys’ singles.

Aledo will advance to the first round of the playoffs and play a bi-district match on October 17th against the #4 advancing team from district 5-5A.
