The Aledo High School Tennis Team’s season ended in the semi-finals of the Region I Tennis Tournament in a very close match (8-11) with Randall High School. Five of the losses went to third sets, and Aledo came up short in four of the five matches. Aledo was paced with strong leadership and play from seniors Alec Meendsen and Jared Kelm. Both seniors went undefeated in post season play, along with juniors Lance McClure and Miles Grubbs, with the four boys accounting for six of Aledo’s 8 points against Randall. Aledo ended the season with a 15-2 record, and will move into individual play for the spring.

In doubles’ pairings posting wins against Randall were Lance McClure/Miles Grubbs (6-3, 6-4) and Alec Meendsen/Jared Kelm (6-4, 6-4). Falling to Randall were James Young/Tomas Dlouhy(6-4, 4-6(4)), Priscilla Schimming/Erin Davis (5-7, 4-6), Allison Dale/Olivia Key (2-6, 3-6), (5-6, 4-6) Carly Siddons/Concetta Ogden (3-6, 5-7), and Tristyn Fambrough/Payton Neeley (0-6, 2-6). Randall led 5-2 after doubles play.

Posting wins in singles were: Meendsen (6-1, 6-1), McClure (6-4 6-4), Grubbs (6-4, 6-4), Kelm (7-6, 6-2), Dlouhy (6-1, 0-6 (7)) and Dale (7-6, 6-2). Randall took wins in singles from Young (1-6, 2-6) Schimming (7-5, 3-6(8))), Davis (6-4, 3-6(9))), Key (2-6,10-6), Siddons (4-6, 6-1 (8)), and Fambrough (1-6, 4-6).
