Last Wednesday night September 29, the RacquetCats dominated the courts by beating the Granbury Pirates 18-1 in Granbury. Aledo won every match except mixed doubles which came down to a super-tiebreaker that unfortunately the team of Zane Martin/Zoe Whitcomb lost 12-14 after splitting sets (6-3)(3-6).
Boys’ doubles winning scores were line 1 team Jax Joiner/Hogan Posey (3-6)(6-1)10-5, line 2 Ian Leslie/Scott Mason(6-1)(6-2) and line 3 Craig Mason/Ben Farmer (6-3)(6-0). Girls’ doubles wins posted were line 1 Katie Siddons/Georgia Posey (6-9)(6-3), line 2 Cambell Charrier/Bryanna Orr (6-3)(6-3) and Payton Bierle/Paige Federman (6-0)(6-0).

Tuesday, October 5 the RacquetCats went on to beat Azle in Aledo 19-0 winning every match.

Girls’ doubles scores were line 1 Siddons/Posey (6-0)(6-0), Line 2 Charrier/Orr (6-1)(6-3) and line 3 Bierle/Federman (6-0)(6-0). Mixed doubles pair Will Beyer/Zoe Whitcomb also won with (6-0)(6-1).

This win over the Azle Hornets brings the team’s district record to 3-2 with a third place finish overall. The RacquetCats will face the Grapevine Mustangs in the Bi-District playoffs Monday, October 11 in Arlington, TX at the Arlington Tennis Center with a 10:00 am start time.
