On Tuesday October 10th the Bearcats took on North Side High School in the first round of district playoffs. They earned the bi-district championship with a score of 15-0.
Boys Doubles Line 1 Craig and Scott Mason and Line 3 Will Beyer and Tom Ruminsky both won their matches 6-0, 6-0. Line 2 Jacob Heckathorn and Francois Britz won 6-1, 6-0.
Girls Doubles Line 1 Kenley Germany and Bryanna Orr and Line 2 Elli Kate Bussmeir and Patrice Loftin also both won 6-0, 6-0. Line 3 Eleanor Jack and Natalie Nawrocki won 6-1, 6-0.
Mixed Doubles Benjamin Farmer and Lila Satterfield won 6-0, 6-0.
With a decisive lead, the Bearcats began singles play with the top 4 lines. All of the boys singles won 6-0, 6-0 (C. Mason, Farmer, S. Mason and Beyer). Orr won 6-0, 6-0; Germany won 6-0, 6-1; Bussmeir won 6-0, 6-0 and Satterfield won 6-0, 6-1. The match was finished without playing the remainder of the singles matches.
The team will face Birdville High School in the next playoff round on Thursday, October 12th at 9 am at Brewer High School, where they hope to continue their undefeated streak.
